Post Type

He is a refurbished individual who once had no goals or discipline in his younger years. One day he decided to flip it around 180 and no longer live the life of an ‘I could’a / should’a’ kinda guy. Now he’s determined to succeed no matter what! Sticking to his goals with great discipline!

When did you start training and what motivated you to start?

I dabbled into it here and there, since I was about 13. You know, just like every other sports fan who wanted to grow up and be a professional baseball, basketball, or football player. So I always wanted to be the best. I knew it would take more then just practicing my abilities, it meant getting stronger, being faster, and braver. So I forever tried to mess with the weights, but because of my ‘not so wise’ and young decision making, I was never able to be consistent. I really got focused on getting into the gym when I was 23, living in Michigan. I felt there’s was nothing else to do! I didn’t know very many people and thought it might be a place to meet people in a positive situation. But to be at competing standard, I’d have to say that was three years ago. I just wanted to see more results, so I said ‘enough just getting to the gym, now I’m diving in!’ That meant researching literature and watching videos all the time, whatever I could find. YouTube, internet articles, magazines, you name it! Then about a year and a half ago I got certified through NASM, now I’m living a dream getting paid to do what I love!

What does your typical diet look like?

Lean meats, baked chicken or Tilapia. For carbs I usually go with Yams. For my fats, I like almonds. Veggies, streamed broccoli. An apple post workout with a Whey shake. Thats about it really.

Do you have cheat days / meals?

Yes depending on how far out from a show, I love a good chocolate chip cookie, and a home town thin crust pizza

Do you drink alcohol?

Occasionally. Only special occasions! I celebrated the night I won my two shows.

Do you use many supplements?

Whey protein, and I have ON Amino Energy in the mornings and also to pick me up in the afternoon. I love the orange flavour!
I’ve taken BCAA’s and multi vitamin but I haven’t been consistent with either one of those.

What does your typical training routine look like?

Monday: Back
Tuesday: Chest
Wednesday: Legs
Thursday: Off
Friday: Calves, Abs, Shoulders.
Saturday: Biceps and Triceps.
Sunday: Off

But I make sure to switch everything up days and muscle parings

Do you have any inspirational figures you look up to?

There’s a lot of Pro’s I look up to! But especially Greg Plitt! He gets me amped up like no other!
But I like to use every situation I endure in life as inspiration or motivation.

Where do you see yourself in the future?

I plan on becoming a Men’s physique IFBB Pro, and I’d love to cover the front of a fitness magazine.

Where did you hear about Physique Of The Week?

A fellow competitor I met at my first show, Nick Contreras. He was in Physique Of The Week 35 I think.

What do you think about Physique Of The Week?

I think it’s great especially for someone like myself. Someone trying to get exposed or maybe sponsored.

If you could give our readers one piece of advice what would it be?

Be patient in the gym! There will be lots of things to throw you off route, but If you stay committed, focused, determined, and make excuses to get to the gym, not the other way around, then life will be what you want it to be, and not just what life gives you. BE IN CONTROL!
